The log cabin and compost toilet are maintained by a group of local volunteers, but we please ask you remove all rubbish and leave the space clean and tidy for other Anglers.
Anglers are responsible for securing boats and making sure they are properly moored after use. Also that the entrance gate is locked upon entry and exit.

Life-jackets must be worn at all times. Anglers are responsible for their own safety equipment

Anglers should ensure that gates are closed  upon entry and exit and that fences are not broken or damaged. Care should be taken with crops and livestock. Litter must not be

discarded and no fires are allowed. Vehicles should be parked in such a manner

that they do not cause obstruction.

The season runs from 17th March-30th November

 Bag Limit: 2 fish

The lake is stocked regularly with quality fighting fit Triploid Rainbow Trout from in Inland Fisheries Hatchery in Roscrea. The average fish size is 3-4lbs, with some fish reaching 4-5lbs and sometimes higher.

Annagh Lake is exclusively for fly fishing, and can only be fished by boat (electric engine).

This is a Spring fed lake, pollution free, and surrounded by deciduous trees which provide great shelter and an abundance of terrestrial flies. Early in the year lures are the choice of most anglers with flies such as Minkies, Snakes and Boobys being the most productive.

In the warmer months, fish will take traditional flies, most popular being Bibios, Claret and Mallard, all types of Sedges, like Green Peter and Murroughs. In the evenings there can be a good hatch of buzzers. Late in the season, fish feed on fry and fry imitations are best.

There is a separate boat and access area for disabled users along the jetty. The compost toilet on site is also wheelchair accessible

Aquatic Invasive Species and fish pathogens are readily transferred from one

watercourse to another on angling tackle, boats and protective clothing. These

can be very damaging to resident fish stocks, the aquatic habitat and the general

environment. We would ask that all anglers inspect and clean their gear prior to

fishing on Annagh Lake if that gear has previously been used on another fishery.

Full information on prevention of invasive species is available at:
